About the launch

IncantedSongLogoWhat a wonderful night of entertainment all round…..we are so happy that our Launch went so well, it was all we could have dreamed of and more. We played for just over an hour and to say you could have heard a pin drop during our turn would be an understatement. Thankfully, we had a full house and a very receptive and appreciative audience who seemed to get us. We had amazing feedback, both positive and constructive for which we are very grateful and feel totally supported by. All those nerves for nothing!!

The feedback was mainly around how pleased and surprised people were that our collaboration seems to work so well; how we work so fluidly together. The marriage of speaking the poems and the supporting creative music together also seemed to be a new concept to some and one that worked really well thankfully.

Many people told us that the combination of  soulful words and voice, with the beautiful music, made the actual poetry or individual poem more accessible and easier to hear, absorb and feel. Several said that they liked that the soft lighting created a silhouette effect for Martin and me, which gave the poems and music centre stage, so the pieces themselves had the floor so to speak  and we are very pleased with that. After all, that’s what its all about.

So a big  thank you from both of us. That goes for each and every one of you who turned out in your numbers to hear and support us. Many travelled long distances, from Bristol, Donegal, Clifden, Galway and Kinvara as well as locally and it was great to see you there. We could feel the love in the room. As for the music afterwards, it was second to none. A huge thank you to the musicians who played so generously for us, to the legend that is Tanya McCole (who delayed her holidays for us) for her voice, her talent and her big heart. To the outstanding musicianship and voices of Eamonn Hatton, Gerry Flynn and Terry Benson (who got out of his sick bed for us)…. Together ye made some beautiful noise enjoyed by everyone lucky enough to hear ye. Thank you all so much.

Upwards and onwards…
